MEASLES - UPDATE
There have been a few cases of Measles in Edinburgh recently and so you should be aware of symptoms and signs of measles and the action to take should you become ill.
Symptoms – Measles symptoms include fever, lethargy, runny nose, conjunctivitis, cough and a red blotchy rash which starts at the head spreading over the chest and limbs. The rash generally fades within 10 days. People with measles are infectious from around 5 days before and until 4 days after the rash appears.
What you need to do
If you feel that you have any of the above symptoms you should NOT come into the Practice and sit in the waiting room as you may spread measles to others.
If you arrive at the building, then please phone us for advice on 0131 650 2777 and the receptionist will advise you of the arrangements in place for you to be seen in a specifically designated area at the practice.
DO NOT COME IN AND SIT IN THE WAITING ROOM.
