AccuRx
We are delighted to announce the introduction of Accurx in University Health Service.
Accurx is a secure, NHS Scotland approved provider which is adopted by 98% of GP Practices in England and has only recently become available in Scotland. We’re enthused to be one of the first practices in Scotland to offer Accurx and anticipate that during an upcoming four-month trial, patients and practice staff will benefit from the digital communication options within Accurx.
Our team will be using it to:
- Send fit notes to you electronically.
- Contact you with brief messages.
Ask you for certain information, which you can then respond by text message – e.g. they may ask you to send us a blood pressure measurement to prescribe your medication.
Text messages will come from “NHSNoReply” and have “Richard Verney Health Service” at the end of the message. You won’t be asked to set up any account – individuals simply need to confirm their date of birth to reply in Accurx.
Should you have reason to believe that we do not hold your most up to date mobile number and/or email address, then please contact our reception on 0131 6502777 to change your details.
We are no longer using eConsult but we hope that you will find the ability to reply to Accurx messages helpful. Please be aware that Accurx is not a triage tool, and DO NOT use the reply function to describe acute medical issues. If you wish to speak to a GP call our reception on 0131 6502777
The following are examples of how the messages will appear on your phone:

If you wish to decline consent to the practice contacting you with Accurx, please let our reception team know.
We hope you enjoy communicating through Accurx, which is part of our commitment to improve the quality of service you receive at the UHS.
